This week's practice is inspired by Zen's radical expansion of leave-no-trace wilderness ethics to include the totality of one's lived experience. It's a useful concept to keep in mind when clearing out storage spaces full of the unused things that I've carted back and forth across the country over the last 20 years. It's the realization that maybe nobody is going to want most of your stuff, after you die, and that all cleaning is death cleaning. (We're in relatively good health at the moment!)

Which is a heavy way of saying that we're playing random selections from the large collection of late '90s and early '00s music that I accumulated during my decade working for Arthur and URB magazines in Los Angeles. Inspired post-hardcore bleeds into astral jazz, hazy downtempo electronics, and outsider digi-dub. We were delighted to find how well Masta Ace fits together with the artists from the 1995 Macro Dub Infection compilation. 

Los Angeles-based Zen teacher Kusala Bhikshu  joins the proceedings to discuss the difference between learning, letting go, and leaving no footprints when we're gone.
