You write very well, and about things I well know. I live near Atx, and found you via Jamie Ward's stack. WOW! I couldn't stop the read once I started. I've spent a lot of time in Marfa and Alpine and Terlingua, and that must have been interesting to live there. I dreamed, as a younger man, of living there, although there wasn't much water around for fishing, which is a lifelong activity. Nonetheless, I was prepared to fish for catfish at Langford's Hot Springs (a hotspot, pun intended) shown to me by a bunch of drunk Austin Folk singers one night in 1998 when I hooked up with them at the Starlight. I liked most of the vibes down there, but the LE vibe could move forward a few decades. I'll be reading more, sir. Excellent read, pictures and other graphics as well. I'm still processing the one on Zen...Thank you!
I adore all . . . well . . . most . . . of the Big Bend, but Terlingua was my first love. I have a bunch of writing from my first trips to the south side of Brewster County that I originally published in Arthur Magazine, that I'll hopefully re-publish here before too long. Thanks for reading! Responses from people who know what I'm talking about first hand are big validation. Jamie is rad.
